Restrictions in Seat Assignments in the Exit Seat
According to the Flight Technology Standards (notice) of The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, passengers who are able to assist (opening emergency exit and so forth) the cabin crew during an emergency are qualified to sit in an exit seat. Please be sure to read the requirements below before you select the Exit Seat. Passengers who tamper with exit doors, aircraft doors,onboard equipment, etc. (unless told to operate by our crew)could be prosecuted
and sentenced for up to 10 years in prison under the Aviation Security Act.
Please refer details for EXIT row seat condition. If you are not proper condition for the seat you could arrange to another seat. pre-payment extra legroom will not refund for international flight.
※ Passengers not eligible for emergency exit row seats
- Passenger is less than 15 years of age or is unable or unwilling to perform one or more of the functions listed below in section 2 without the assistance of an adult companion
- Passenger does not have the sufficient mobility, strength, or dexterity in both arms, hands, and legs to perform the following:
- Access the operating device of the emergency exit or evacuation slide
- Grasp and push, pull, turn, or otherwise manipulate the operating device of the evacuation slide
- Open the emergency exit by pushing, pulling, etc.
- Lift the overwing exit window, or move the detached parts to the nearby seats or the next row
- Remove obstructions that are similar in size and weight to overwing exit windows
- Reach the emergency exit expeditiously
- Maintain balance while removing obstructions
- Exit expeditiously
- Maintain stability after the evacuation slide is deployed or inflated
- Assist passengers to promptly move away from the evacuation slide after they exit using the slide
- Passenger is unable to read and understand instructions related to emergency evacuation that are provided in printed or graphic form or is unable to understand the oral instructions of the cabin crew
- Passenger requires the assistance of optical aids beyond contact lenses or eyeglasses to perform one or more of the functions listed above
- Passenger requires the assistance of other hearing aids beyond the general hearing aid to hear and understand the exit instructions of the cabin crew
- Passenger lacks the ability to impart information properly to other passengers
- Passengers who would be unable to perform or would get hurt while performing one or more of the actions listed in 2 above due to their physical conditions (senior passengers, pregnant passengers, unaccompanied minors, etc.) or responsibilities (passengers traveling with infants and children under the age of 15, passengers traveling with pets, etc.).
- Passenger is unwilling to help other passengers exit during an emergency
- Passenger is under the influence of alcohol, medication and so forth during check-in, boarding, or flight
